1) How can I apply for an Edison internship?
- Go to the careers search on Edison.com
- Enter “Intern” in the box labeled keyword in the middle of the page
- Click on “search” at bottom of page or hit “Enter”
- The “College Internship Program” will appear in the middle of the page
- Click on the job title “College Internship Program” to submit your résumé for intern opportunities
- Review all job criteria
- Click on “Submit Résumé” at bottom of page
- You must repeat this for all positions in which you are interested.
Once you have successfully submitted your résumé, you will receive a message on the screen and an email confirmation.
2) What are the requirements to apply for an internship? Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be attending an accredited college or university.
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate academic program, be attending school at least part-time and be making satisfactory progress toward a degree.
- Official transcript and verification of enrollment in an academic program must be provided.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Internship Program Details:
- Paid, Full & Part-time Summer and year-round Internship positions.
- Flexible start for Summer Internship (May/June) and end (August/September) dates based on your availability.
3) What is the next step after I submit my résumé on Edisonjobs.com?
Once you submit your résumé, it will be reviewed and screened. If your résumé is competitive, it is reviewed by hiring managers for consideration.
4) How will I know if you have received my résumé? You will receive an automatic response in addition to an on-screen confirmation after your résumé has been successfully submitted at http://www.edisonjobs.com/.
5) If I do not hear from anyone whom do I contact?

6) What are the application deadlines?
The internship position is posted in August. Résumés should be submitted by December 31.
7) Who can apply for an Edison internship?
Those pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree are welcome to apply. All majors are welcome to apply.
8) Can international students apply?
Yes, international students are welcome to apply. Documentation supporting the legal right to work within the United States is required.
9) Is the Edison internship paid?
Yes, Edison offers competitive wages ranging from $14.50-$21.00 per hour depending on your school standing and job experience.
10) What are the start and end dates of the internship?
The start and end dates are flexible and will be determined by the Intern, HR, and the hiring manager. Most internships begin in June and end in August.
11) How flexible is the internship with school and vacations?
The internship is flexible. The intern and the manager will discuss summer school and vacation scheduling. Interns are usually requested to work 40 hours per week. If the internship continues in to the academic year, it will be part-time in alignment with the student’s class schedule.
12) If I am an out-of-state student does Edison provide housing?
Some positions do offer a housing stipend.
13) Am I guaranteed a job with Edison after I graduate?
While there is no guarantee of employment, the intent of the intern program is to identify potential full time entry level professional employees.
14) Can I intern at Edison during the school year?
Yes, there are some internships offered during the academic year. Students interning during the academic year work part-time.
15) What are the hours of the internship?
Summer internships generally are 40 hours per week and usually a day shift schedule. Actual hours vary by department.
16) How competitive is the internship program?
The internship program is very competitive. More than 1,000 students applied for 238 internships offered during our 2008 program. Ensure your résumé showcases your experience, course work and GPA.

18) Are interns required to meet the 18 month residency requirement to apply to posted positions?
Interns are not required to meet the 18 month residency requirement before applying as the intent of this College Relations program is to attract and retain qualified employees who are finishing their degree programs. Upon completion of their degree, SCE desires to retain the employee in a full time position where it is in the best interest of the employee and the company.
